Become a Volunteer Literacy Tutor
If you have the desire, time and talent, why not help a local adult turn the page to a new life?
The Delaware County Literacy Council is seeking volunteer literacy tutors to work one-on-one with local adults. Tutors meet their adult learners twice a week (90 minutes each session) at mutually convenient times and locations with a commitment to continue to do so for a minimum of 6 months.
Adult Basic Education (ABE) - the next free volunteer tutor training sessions will be held on consecutive Saturdays, 4/22 & 4/29 from 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. with a follow-up session on Wednesday, 5/24 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
English as a Second Language (ESL) – the next free volunteer tutor training sessions will be held on Saturday, 4/22 from 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., Monday, 4/24 & Wednesday, 4/26 from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a follow-up session on Thursday, 5/25 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
