We are still meeting in person (update on December 11)
You have probably heard about the new measures coming tomorrow (Saturday, 12/12) in Pennsylvania. Hoping to help curb the spread of coronavirus, Governor Wolf has prohibited in person dining, gatherings of more than 10 inside, and new limits on businesses, sports, and more. These measures will be in place through January 4. You can read more about them on this page (under “Temporary Mitigation Measures”).
Thankfully, the current administration continues to protect religious freedom. They have (again) made it clear that these restrictions do not apply to religious institutions, saying, “Churches [and other religious organizations] are specifically excluded from the limitations set forth above during religious services...”
As of today, we plan to continue worshiping in person with the current safeguards in place. However, in light of the increasing spread of COVID-19 in our area, there is more risk in gathering together. Please be extra diligent in cooperating with the practices we’ve implemented to mitigate the spread of the virus and try to love one another. We will continue to monitor the situation and prayerfully discuss what changes to make in our current practices (if any). Meanwhile, wear your masks and wash your hands. Worship with us online if you’re sick, possibly exposed, or just not comfortable with the precautions or risk. If you're willing to join us, sign up for this Sunday here.
In Christ and on behalf of the elders,
Pastor Mike
