The Good News Club at Stonehurst Hills

Again this year, our church is partnering with Child Evangelism Fellowship and adopting the two local elementary schools near the church - Stonehurst Hills and Bywood.

The first week of the Good News Club at Stonehurst Hills Elementary on Ruskin Lane in Upper Darby had record attendance of 48 children! Last year, our first week we had around 10 students. The fields are white unto harvest.

In the first week, a majority of the children indicated that they did not have a Bible in their homes. Our goal this year is to place a Bible into the hands of every child that attends the club. We pray that having the Bible in each home will lead to revival as in the days of Josiah (II Chronicles 34:14-21). We will be presenting an attractive ESV study Bible that costs $12.

Prayer Requests:

1. For the precious children of Stonehurst Hills, that the Holy Spirit will be opening their hearts and minds to the good news of Jesus Christ.

2. For our GNC team - Josh VanMeerbeke, Anne Kelly, Nathan Reese, Grace Ellis, John Reese, Dana Ellis, Linda Montgomery, Fran Sine, Julie Reese, Aminata Sesay, and Fran Froelich - and that the logistics of dealing with such a large group in a confined space will run smoothly.

3. For the principal and staff of Stonehurst Hills Elementary who have been very welcoming and accommodating, and that the Lord will bless them as they educate these children daily.

If you would like to contribute to the purchase of Bibles for the Good News Club, you may use the envelopes in the Narthex or simply make your checks payable to Crossroads Community Church and designate your checks "Children's Bibles."
